SmartCOMM vs Experlogix: enterprise CCM or CRM document automation?
They're different kinds of tool. Experlogix Document Automation builds proposals and contracts from CRM records and starts at $12 per user per month on Capterra. SmartCOMM is enterprise CCM for regulated output, listed from $35,000 a year, so if that's your need, compare full CCM suites instead.
Comparing SmartCOMM vs Experlogix? Here’s the catch: they aren’t the same kind of tool.
Experlogix Document Automation (it used to be called Xpertdoc) turns CRM records into proposals, contracts and onboarding packs, mostly inside Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Salesforce. SmartCOMM is an enterprise customer communications management (CCM) platform for regulated output like policies, statements and notices. New to the category? Start with what is CCM.
Pick by your situation
If you only have a minute, start here.
- Your documents start as a CRM record and end as an email or e-signature? Experlogix is built for that, and you can trial it first.
- You send regulated statements, policies or notices at volume? You’re shopping for enterprise CCM. Compare real CCM suites, starting with SmartCOMM vs Quadient Inspire.
- You build documents in Salesforce at scale? Add Conga Composer to your list.
One more thing: search results for this pair often mix in Smart CPQ, a quoting tool that gets compared with Experlogix CPQ. That’s a different product. This page is about Experlogix Document Automation.

Where they overlap and where they don’t
Both build templates with conditional logic and generate documents in bulk. After that, they split. Experlogix stays close to the CRM. SmartCOMM covers multichannel output, and sells forms, orchestration and archive as separate products.
What each covers, stage by stage, as of October 2026. Striped cells are described only by the vendor, so confirm them in your RFP.

What users say
Experlogix reviewers on Capterra call it “extremely reliable” and like the Word templates and Smart Flows inside Dynamics 365. The complaints: setup is “pretty hard”, changing a form means editing the Word template by hand, and there’s no Word plug-in for macOS, so templates are Windows-only.
SmartCOMM reviewers on G2 score its support 9.8 out of 10. On TrustRadius they like template creation, data processing and output delivery, and push back on price, complicated licensing and frequent upgrades. Read the full SmartCOMM review for more.
What it costs to get started
The gap in entry price is huge, but it reflects the category more than the value.
Experlogix starts at $12 per user per month on Capterra, with a free trial, so you can test it on your own documents before you talk to sales. SmartCOMM starts at $35,000 a year, with no trial, and page volumes, environments and services add to that.
Enterprise CCM is usually priced on volume and environments, not seats. So ask every vendor to quote your real document volumes. See SmartCOMM pricing and CCM software pricing for how licensing works.
Your best options
Here’s where to look, depending on what you’re really trying to do.
Experlogix Document Automation
Best for CRM-driven proposals, contracts and quotes in Dynamics 365 or Salesforce
- $12per user per month on Capterra
- 4.4 ★14 Capterra reviews
A good fit when your users and data already live in the CRM, most output goes out by email or for e-signature, and per-user pricing suits your team size.
Watch out: template authors need Windows, since there’s no Word plug-in for macOS.
A full CCM suite
Best for regulated statements, policies and notices at enterprise volume
If compliance signs off on what you send, and you print as well as email, you need a CCM platform, not a document generator. Our best CCM software list ranks the options.
Conga Composer
Best for Salesforce-centric document generation at scale
- 918G2 reviews
It sits in the same G2 category as Experlogix and has a much bigger review base.
