SmartIQ alternatives: enterprise forms and data capture platforms compared

Short answer

Look at Adobe AEM Forms for AI form tools and a deep review base, Quadient Inspire iForms for forms and documents from one vendor, EasySend for no-code insurance journeys, or ISIS Papyrus if forms should open cases. Simple form builders like Typeform can't handle regulated onboarding or claims.

Shopping for SmartIQ alternatives? The realistic shortlist is Adobe AEM Forms, Quadient Inspire iForms, EasySend and ISIS Papyrus. Which one fits depends on where you want to host it and what should happen after the form is submitted.

SmartIQ is Smart Communications’ forms product. Insurers, banks and healthcare teams use it to turn paper and PDF forms into guided digital applications, claims and onboarding. It launched in June 2020, growing out of the Intelledox platform.

Why review sites suggest the wrong tools

Each review site files SmartIQ in a broad category, so its “alternatives” page fills up with survey and form tools. On Gartner, it even shows software testing tools.

Review siteWhere SmartIQ is filedSmartIQ rating (October 2026)“Alternatives” shown
Gartner Peer InsightsApplication Development4.4 from 19 ratingsSilk Test, Selenium WebDriver, Visual Studio
G2Online Form Builder5.0 from 1 reviewMicrosoft Forms, Typeform, Jotform, SurveyMonkey
CapterraForm Builder4.7 from 10 reviewsaltaFlow, monday, Wrike, Jotform
TrustRadiusNo category shownNo review count shownAlchemer, Zoho Forms, Typeform, Quadient Inspire

A regulated claims or onboarding form needs more than a form builder. It has to pre-fill from your core systems, route approvals, keep an audit trail and usually produce a document at the end. Typeform can’t do that.

Also note those SmartIQ ratings rest on small samples. Most Capterra reviews date from 2012 and 2019, and Capterra marks most as vendor-referred.

The 4 best SmartIQ alternatives

They’re ordered by how closely each one matches SmartIQ’s core job: collecting customer data through governed forms and turning it into a finished process.

Adobe AEM Forms

Best for large teams that want AI to build and fill forms

  • 4.3 ★115 Gartner reviews
  • AI agentsannounced April 2026

AEM Forms has 115 Gartner ratings in the CCM market, a solid base to judge it on. In April 2026 Adobe announced agents that build forms from a prompt, brief or image, plus form filling through AI assistants. That’s the closest public match to the AI agent tools Smart Communications announced for SmartIQ in February 2026.

Watch out: ask which agents are generally available, and which edition (cloud or on-premises) your quote assumes.

Quadient Inspire iForms

Best for one vendor for the form and the letter, policy or statement after it

  • 4.8 ★130 Gartner reviews (Inspire)
  • 4.8 ★130 G2 reviews (Inspire)

Quadient launched iForms in September 2023 after buying Daylight Automation, formerly FormHero. Because it sits inside Inspire, one vendor covers both the form and everything you send after it. Quadient has offered Inspire as SaaS and for on-premises or hybrid use.

Watch out: those ratings cover all of Inspire, so ask for references that use iForms itself, and price it separately.

EasySend

Best for insurers that want no-code digital journeys, fast

  • 4.4 ★24 G2 reviews
  • 8 of 24G2 reviewers in insurance

EasySend is a no-code platform for onboarding, applications, quotes and service requests, with e-signatures and CRM and ERP connections. Reviewers like the visual builder and quick rollout. Some mention slow performance on complex forms and gaps in a few integrations. Get its security certifications in writing.

Watch out: it doesn’t produce high-volume print and digital communications, so you’d pair it with a CCM platform.

ISIS Papyrus

Best for forms that kick off a case your staff then work

  • 4.5 ★92 Gartner reviews
  • Self-hostedon-prem, IBM, Azure or AWS

Papyrus handles case and process management, archiving, intelligent document processing, and inbound and outbound communications on one platform. It fits when a submitted form should open a case that staff work in the same system.

Watch out: no vendor-hosted SaaS edition shows up in independent coverage.

Close, but not a replacement

Some tools show up in SmartIQ comparisons without doing the same job. Knowing why saves you a wasted demo.

  • Form builders like Jotform, Typeform and Microsoft Forms are fine for simple forms. They can’t pre-fill from core systems or produce regulated documents.
  • Document generation tools like Experlogix build documents from CRM data, but they aren’t forms platforms. See SmartCOMM vs Experlogix.
  • CCM suites without a forms product work only if a portal or partner handles data capture. Compare them in SmartCOMM alternatives and the CCM benchmark.

What to ask before you compare quotes

Some SmartIQ details only appear on Smart Communications’ own pages. Get them in writing at renewal, then send the same list to each alternative with our CCM RFP template.

  1. Pricing: how is SmartIQ licensed, and if usage counts, what counts as a “process”? Model three years of volume.
  2. Hosting: which tenancy model and regions, and which test and production environments are included?
  3. Certifications: current ISO 27001, SOC 2 and HIPAA evidence for the service.
  4. AI: are the agent tools, MCP servers and AI form migration included, and how is agent-collected data checked? See Smart Communications AI features.
  5. Leaving: in what format can you export form definitions, submissions and audit history?
