Duck Creek CCM integration: which platforms connect, and what to test
For a Duck Creek CCM integration, start with Quadient Inspire, which has announced connectors for both Duck Creek Claims and Duck Creek Policy. Add OpenText Exstream if heavy renewal and billing batches matter most. Whatever you pick, prove the connector on your own Duck Creek release before you sign.
Running Duck Creek and choosing a CCM platform? The Duck Creek CCM integration is where most projects win or lose time. Your policy, billing and claims transactions have to reach the CCM platform with the right data, and the finished documents have to come back.
Only a handful of CCM vendors have announced a Duck Creek connector. This page shows who they are, which Duck Creek modules each one covers, how the connection works and what to test before you sign. For the wider market, see our CCM software guide.

Every filled cell is a vendor or Duck Creek announcement. None of them prove the connector works on your Duck Creek release today.
Two things stand out. Only Quadient has announcements in trade press or on a newswire for both Claims and Policy. And nobody has announced a Billing connector, so plan billing notices as a separate test.
How a Duck Creek CCM integration works
The connector sits between Duck Creek and your CCM platform. Duck Creek fires an event, the connector hands over the data, the CCM platform builds the document and sends it out.
Each hand-off is a place where projects slip. The flow below shows the four stages and what to test at each join.
A general model for property and casualty carriers. Your connector may split or merge steps, so map it with the vendor.
-
A transaction happens in Duck Creek
Duck Creek Policy, Billing, Claims
- New business, endorsement, renewal or cancellation
- Invoice or past-due notice
- Claim opened, updated or decided
-
Test Every field your forms need arrives, including state, form edition and effective date.
-
The connector passes the data
AEI, Content Exchange listing or your own API build
- Maps Duck Creek fields to the CCM data model
- One call per transaction, or a nightly extract for batches
-
Test Upgrade Duck Creek in a test environment. The connector still works without a rebuild.
-
The CCM platform composes
Your CCM platform
- Picks the filed form edition by state and effective date
- Keeps filed wording locked; adjusters edit only open sections
- One template for print and digital
-
Test Quotes return fast enough for a waiting producer, and renewals finish in their batch window.
-
Delivery and archive
CCM platform, print provider, portal
- Print and mail, email, portal, SMS
- A copy linked back to the policy or claim
- Archive of exactly what was sent

Don’t skip the second test. A connector built for one Duck Creek release may need work on the next, so the contract should say who fixes it.
The best CCM platforms for Duck Creek carriers
These picks lean on dated Duck Creek announcements first, then on review volume. Ratings aren’t Duck Creek specific; every number is in our CCM benchmark.
Best for carriers that want Claims and Policy covered by one CCM platform
- 4.8 ★130 Gartner ratings, Oct 2026
- Claims + PolicyDuck Creek connectors, 2020 and 2021
Quadient announced its Duck Creek Claims connector in 2020 and an Anywhere Enabled Integration for Duck Creek Policy in 2021. The announcements cover moving existing templates into Inspire and letting business users edit within set limits. You can run Inspire as SaaS, on-premises or hybrid.
Watch out: Billing was named as a next step in 2020; ask whether it shipped.
Best for Duck Creek carriers with big renewal and billing runs, or a self-hosting rule
- 4.4 ★76 Gartner ratings, Oct 2026
- Jul 2022Duck Creek Content Exchange link
Duck Creek announced in 2022 that its customers can connect to Exstream through Content Exchange. Per that announcement, Exstream runs on any major cloud or on-premises, which suits carriers that keep document output in their own data center. Reviewers praise its high-volume batch processing.
Watch out: the announcement doesn’t list modules, so ask which Duck Creek products and releases the connector covers.
GhostDraft
Best for mid-size carriers that want an insurance-only CCM in the cloud
- 65+insurers, per GhostDraft, 2023
- Oct 2023Duck Creek Claims integration
GhostDraft builds CCM only for insurers. Its Duck Creek Claims integration maps claim data to a document model so business users can build claims letters without IT. GhostDraft says it now connects to Duck Creek Policy too, so ask for a Policy reference.
Watch out: there’s little independent review data, so lean on reference calls with Duck Creek carriers.
Newgen
Best for Duck Creek Policy carriers that want CCM and document management from one vendor
- Oct 2023Duck Creek Policy integration
- EvaluatedQKS SPARK Matrix, Q3 2026
Newgen connects its NewgenONE OmniDocs platform to Duck Creek Policy through Content Exchange. Duck Creek described it as CCM and enterprise content management in one product, which can cut a vendor if you also need a policy document repository.
Watch out: its strength is content management, so test outbound composition as hard as you test storage.
Strong CCM platforms without a Duck Creek announcement
Messagepoint and Precisely EngageOne both do well with insurers. Messagepoint announced it was named a Luminary in Celent’s 2024 insurance CCM report, and it’s a good fit if your bigger problem is thousands of overlapping templates.
Neither has announced a Duck Creek CCM connector. That doesn’t rule them out, because most modern CCM platforms take data over APIs. It does mean you or a systems integrator build and maintain the link, so price that work into the business case.
Leaving SmartCOMM while on Duck Creek
SmartCOMM’s Duck Creek Policy connector was built by NTT DATA and announced in 2022. If you’re replacing SmartCOMM, Quadient and OpenText are the two platforms with Duck Creek announcements and large review bases.
Ask each one to rebuild three of your live SmartCOMM templates on your Duck Creek test data. Compare options in SmartCOMM alternatives and plan the move with our guide to migrating off SmartCOMM.
What to put in your RFP

How to build your Duck Creek CCM shortlist
Your Duck Creek modules and release narrow the field faster than any feature list. Work in this order.
- List your Duck Creek modules and release, and whether you’re on Duck Creek OnDemand or self-hosted.
- Count filed forms and live templates. That drives migration effort more than license price. Our template rationalization guide helps.
- Ask each vendor for connector proof: who built it, which release, and two Duck Creek carriers you can call.
- Run the three-document test from the RFP list on your own data.
- Score the results with our CCM vendor scorecard.
Duck Creek has been privately owned since Vista Equity Partners completed its roughly $2.6 billion purchase in March 2023. If you’re moving off another core system too, see our CCM migration guide, and for the wider insurance picture read CCM software for insurance.

Frequently asked questions
Which CCM platforms integrate with Duck Creek?
Quadient announced Inspire integrations with Duck Creek Claims in December 2020 and Duck Creek Policy in October 2021. Duck Creek announced a Content Exchange connection to OpenText Exstream in July 2022, GhostDraft announced a Duck Creek Claims integration in October 2023, and Newgen announced a Duck Creek Policy integration the same month.
Do I need a separate CCM platform with Duck Creek?
Duck Creek and at least five CCM vendors have announced integrations since 2020, so pairing the two is common. Ask Duck Creek what document output your edition includes out of the box, then compare it with a CCM platform on filed-form versions, batch volume and archive.
What is a Duck Creek Anywhere Enabled Integration?
It’s the label Duck Creek and its partners use for a packaged connector between Duck Creek and a partner product. Quadient’s Policy connector and the SmartCOMM Policy connector built by NTT DATA were both announced as Anywhere Enabled Integrations.
What is Duck Creek Content Exchange?
It’s Duck Creek’s marketplace for partner integrations. OpenText Exstream, GhostDraft and Newgen announced connections listed there. A listing is written by the seller, so ask who maintains it and which Duck Creek releases it supports.
Can I keep my CCM platform if I move to Duck Creek OnDemand?
Usually, if the platform can call or be called by Duck Creek over its APIs. The questions are who builds and maintains that connection, whether it survives Duck Creek upgrades, and whether documents come back to the policy or claim record.
